The second-screen platform ACTV8.me announced a partnership with FOX today spanning the development of several apps and an investment in the startup. To start, ACTV8.me and FOX launched an app for the hit comedy ?New Girl? which enables viewers to interact in real-time with the show and earn badges by watching and answering trivia. More show apps will follow, and FOX made an undisclosed investment in ACTV8.
?Forming deeper and more relevant relationships with our audience is a key priority at FOX,? said Bill Bradford, Senior Vice President of Digital Media for Fox Broadcasting Company. ?We?re always looking for new ways to enhance the viewing experience for our audience with rich, engaging interactive content, and we think ACTV8.me is an ideal partner to help us achieve that.?
The FOX deal comes on the heels of Actv8?s partnership with Mark Burnett and the launch of the Celebrity Apprentice app, with more of Burnett?s shows to come. With the addition of FOX, ACTV8 is suddenly a major player for the second screen in network TV.
?As this market matures, and if we really listen to the audience as we grow, this platform could surely provide the most significant breakthrough in the history of the television business,? says ACTV8.me Founder/CEO Brian Shuster.
The ?New Girl? second screen app is available today on iTunes App Store for iPhones and will be available on iPad and Android platforms following the coming weeks.
